Louis Vuitton is Headed to New York

New York is getting a lot of love from European fashion as of late. The city currently awaits pre-fall shows from Versace and Chanel, fitting perfectly into the CFDA's new December fashion week, and next year, it will host another big name: Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquière announced he will show the brand's Resort 2020 show in the Big Apple next May.

The teaser video pans the brand's past resort venues, including the Niterói Contemporary Art Museum in Rio de Janeiro, the Miho Museum in Kyoto, and the Bob and Delores Hope Estate in Palm Springs, before landing on shots of New York buildings. While the upcoming event's exact location is to be announced, the architectural focus suggests models will be walking in or near a visually stunning building. Will it be the Guggenheim Museum, as some are speculating? Or is Ghesquière's ideal venue somewhere else, like the Oculus or the Flatiron building? Stay tuned.

Louis Vuitton's announcement means the first full week in May is going to be especially major for fashion in New York. The show will be happening on the 8th, just two days after the Met Gala, which this year is celebrating the theme of "Camp: Notes on Fashion."
