Converse and Kim Jones unveil refashioned classics in a new collection that puts a modern twist on American sportswear.&nbsp;

In his debut <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/converse-movie-moments-marie-antoinette" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Converse</a> capsule collection, fashion designer <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/fendi-spring-summer-2021-haute-couture" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kim Jones</a> merges contemporary streetwear and classic American sportswear, delivering a distinct contemporary perspective from head-to-toe. Jones is known for his work at the helm of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/dior-men-fall-winter-2021" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dior Men</a> and his appointment as artistic director womenswear at <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/fendi-spring-summer-2021-haute-couture" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fendi</a>.
"The design approach for the shoe was very straight forward," Jones reflects. "Taking a very classic shoe and then almost encasing it in something to protect it." The new Chuck 70 style reflects Jones' utilitarian approach to design with an extended rubber mid-sole and transparent TPU cage that overlays the classic canvas upper.

The collection not only features the elevated sneaker, but is completed by four accompanying garments. The first is a water-resistant <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/winter-puffer-coat-history-style-photos" target="_blank" rel="noopener">parka</a> crafted with a combination of nylon and mesh. There's also a cotton <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/cargo-pants-trend-instagram" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cargo pant</a> that&rsquo;s a modern take on a traditional fit with snap closures and mesh elements for breathability. A crewneck sweatshirt and a <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/graphic-tshirt-history-band-merch" target="_blank" rel="noopener">T-shirt</a> round out the collection.

"There's an easy look to each of the pieces," Jones says. "I wanted each to be a modern version of the 'Take Ivy' vibe."&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>
