Converse have long been the shoe of choice for youth, rebels, and tastemakers. Originally created in 1917 as a basketball shoe, the Chuck Taylor eventually became a wardrobe staple for those in counter-culture movements like '70s punks, '80s rockers, and the '90s grunge scene. Though popular in the underground, Converse have managed to also go mainstream, being worn throughout the world by people of all ages and walks of life.

The sneaker has also had several moments in iconic films over the decades. Here, we round up some of the shoe's cameos in film and TV from the '70s to today.
