With appearances both on and off the runway, the large clutch trend is here to stay.

Are maxi bags overtaking the mini bag trend? Last season, fashion was exposed to the oversized bag trend once again. The practicality of a bigger bag is non debatable—we often find ourselves thinking medium sized bags aren't enough. We always need more room to store our random belongings, whether its our keys, laptops, wallets or even some extra lip products—a big bag will always serve its purpose to keep our things in one place.

Recently, street style is showing us that wearing large bags don't necessarily have to mean we're bound to shoulder pain. Now a chic way of carrying our necessities, large clutches are joining the fashion world. They're dominating the runways of major luxury fashion houses like Ferragamo and Fendi, while also starting to appear in street style. Last month, Milan Fashion Week proved that the large clutch trend has potential to stay in our hearts, and of course, in our closets.

Whether you're into a more minimalist or maximalist style, consider embarking on the large clutch trend this spring for an elevated, chic aesthetic.

The large clutch phenomenon continues on the runway. Ferragamo's show during Milan Fashion Week proved that large clutches can be intricately paired with the right outfit by color matching and color blocking. While other looks featured mini bags, the variety of the over-the-top clutch was the main star of the show. At Fendi, the emerging royal blue shade dominated the runway. The strong tone is predicted to make a bolder appearance in fashion this year, and it surely did not shy away from the bags at Fendi's Fall/Winter 2024 show. Bottega Veneta reincorporated its classic bag design into a bigger size, with models presenting it clutch style. Italian fashion house Tod's also joined the trend, showcasing its reconstructed Di Bag.

During London Fashion Week, Burberry brought the trend to British fashion at Victoria Park in East London, accessorizing both women and men's looks with a neutral color palette. Designers at Paris Fashion Week also hopped onto large clutches, showcasing a few of them on the runway at Rabanne and Victoria Beckham
