Harry Lambert Forays Into the Fashion Design World With Debut Collection
Best known as Harry Styles' stylist, Harry Lambert takes a step out of styling and into design with his first clothing line.
The creative behind shaping Harry Styles' now signature sense of style, stylist Harry Lambert is stepping out from behind-the-scenes and into the spotlight as he introduces his first clothing line. Titled "Cutie Chaos," the joyous collection is a collaboration between Lambert and fashion retailer Zara.
Unsurprisingly, it's extremely Styles-coded, with a lineup of more than 60 pieces available to shop. He draws inspiration from his work and personal style to compile a capsule wardrobe designed to be mixed, matched, loved, and shared. The collection is in line with its easily recognizable signature — with its vintage references, its oversized look, its old fabrics, and its nostalgic color palette. The retro pieces are instinctively faithful to Lambert's influential aesthetic.
We find knit work, a central element of the collection. Lambert unveils intarsia pieces depicting cheeky characters that personify the Cutie Chaos character. The emphasis was placed on the configuration of the knits, with an elongated rib at the wrist and waist found on most of the pieces, inspired by vintage finds. Another obvious piece from the collection is a rainbow sweater intended to be worn with an extra-long scarf, to sprinkle one's life with color.
The Harry Lambert x Zara collection also includes a rich selection of outerwear: zipped jackets with turtlenecks, duffle coats lined with faux fur, and even faux shearling jackets. As for the jewelry, we love the crystal necklace, similar to those that Lambert wears daily, or the three handbags — a Cutie Chaos with a shoulder strap, an illustrated tote, and a brown leather handbag with a zipper pressure. Add to that list a selection of thick-soled lace-up sneakers in herringbone or contrast-colored suede.
To top it all off, low-impact fibers were the cornerstone of this collection, in line with Lambert's vision for more sustainable products and Inditex's sustainability goals. Cutie Chaos has been produced with a focus on fabrics containing recycled raw materials such as recycled wool, polyester, nylon, and cotton.
The collection is completed by a selection of vintage-inspired organic cotton jeans and t-shirts, drawn from those that Lambert found during his many travels. By combining his unique fashion and his conscious vision of current ecological issues, Lambert has created a desirable collection — which we suspect will quickly sell out.
