Fear of God to Collaborate with Nike in 2018
Fear of God, the fashion brand famed for counting Kanye West and Justin Bieber as serious fans, will collaborate on a sneaker collection with Nike in the new year, according to its founder Jerry Lorenzo.
The announcement was made in an unlikely way: in Lorenzo's Instagram comments. After a fan asked if the brand planned to restock Fear of God's collaboration with Vans (which has already sold out worldwide), the designer responded: "No more Vans. Swoosh for '18".
The 40-year-old fashion designer didn't confirm any more details, but it's rumoured that the Air Presto is one of the silhouettes the brand will be putting their stamp on.
Sneaker collaborations have swiftly become the hottest fashion property of 2017. From the sell-out status of Yeezy by Adidas to the highly coveted "The Ten" by Virgil Abloh and Nike, we've seen some $200 silhouettes sell for five times that price on the resell market.
Having started Fear of God with no fashion experience, Lorenzo made his mainstream name in 2016, when he acted as a chief fashion advisor for Justin Bieber's Purpose Tour, designing stage outfits and consulting on the sell-out merchandise that came alongside it.
Without doubt, his collaboration with Nike will be just as sought after as those famous tour tees.
