Goodbye Year of the Tiger, hello Year of the Rabbit. Lunar New Year officially starts on January 22, formally ending the reign of the tiger and hailing the rabbit as the new ruler. Representative of what good fortune is to come, the Chinese zodiac sign symbolizes longevity, positivity, and intelligence. Celebrating these new beginnings are eight luxury brands that have created special Lunar New Year collections in honor of the occasion. From Gucci's vibrant-hued pieces to Fendi's red and white-infused garments, here are the best Lunar New Year collections to shop.

For Gucci's Lunar New Year capsule collection, the label dove all in with the idea of festivity. The mood is a joyful one, as dynamic colors and bold patterns are present throughout the entirety of the collection. Creative iterations of the rabbit show up on the garments in the form of an embroidered patch, woven knit, or even embossed on the face of the watches. Printed silk blouses, playful graphic shirts, geometric skirts, patchworked cardigans, and contrasting patterned handbags are just a few of the standout pieces.

Photographed by Max Siedentopf, the campaign is just as exuberant as the collection as models pose against a field of flowers made of vibrant hues. Providing the final touch to the campaign are a few bunnies making their Gucci debut.

Fendi

Fendi celebrates the new year by drawing inspiration from the past. The label looks to the reinterpreted Fendi Roma logo created by Marc Jacobs for the Baguette Bag 25th Anniversary collection. The reinterpreted logo takes shape throughout the special selection of ready-to-wear pieces and eye-catching accessories. Providing a subtle difference, but still maintaining the same level of chic, the womenswear pieces are fully enveloped with tones of red and white while the menswear items have the added colors of black and grey.

Bottega Veneta

As stated by the brand in a press release, "Bottega Veneta addresses a local tradition with a universal message: time is the ultimate luxury." The campaign follows a group of characters on their journey back home as they travel through the different Chinese landscapes. Keeping the focus on the story itself and the House's theme of time and motion, the campaign remains logo-free. Bottega Veneta's specialty in handbags ties into Creative Director Matthieu Blazy’s vision of motion.

Bottega Veneta is in essence pragmatic because it is a leather goods company. Because it specialises in bags, it is about movement, of going somewhere; there is fundamentally an idea of craft in motion,” says Blazy in a press release.

Photographed by British Chinese photographer Alexandra Leese, Self-Portrait's Lunar New Year campaign celebrates family and friendship by capturing the importance of community, unity, and shared rituals. Founder and Creative Director Han Chong and Stylist Audrey Hu draw from their heritage to convey the familial moments experienced during the holiday. The collection itself also ties into tradition as women's and kids' styles are available in Guipure lace, bouclé, crepe, and knitted fabrics. A particular standout piece is the Bow Bag, a mini handbag that comes in various festive colors and sports a chic enamel bow on the front.

Ferragamo

To celebrate the Lunar New Year, Ferragamo combines the House's signature effortless design codes combined with elements from traditional Chinese culture. From the zoomed-in rendered eye of a rabbit utilized as its own print to the printed rabbit silhouette in a serene setting, Ferragamo celebrated every aspect of the zodiac sign. The capsule collection highlights items such as silk foulards, shirts and skirts, a crewneck sweatshirt, and a city jacket along with luxurious accessories including the Gancini buckle belt and the Trifolio and Studio bags.

The House focused on refined design elements to produce sleek and polished silhouettes that are still full of charisma and have a lively touch. Adding that holiday flair are the dashes of sequined embellishments that uphold Miu Miu's signature aptitude for femininity.

Embracing the bold saturated red traditionally associated with Lunar New Year, Proenza Schouler presents its collection with nothing but vibrancy. Beyond the occasional black item, the collection takes shape fully enveloping various shades of red through pieces such as bell-sleeved sweaters, pleated skirts, and sleeveless mini dresses. Also available in the collection is the PS1 handbag, offered in a tango red or light nude.
