Academy Awards 2019: Our Favorite Looks
Just like that, awards season had its grand finale with the Oscars. The hostless show went fairly smoothly, and an opening monologue by the iconic trio of Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Maya Rudolph preceded an eventful night, ranging from Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's steamy performance of "Shallow" from A Star is Born to Olivia Colman's adorably surprised Best Actress acceptance speech. But as always, another show in itself had happened on the red carpet, as celebrities made an impression with their final awards looks of the season.
One of the most iconic looks of the night came from Billy Porter, who donned a showstopping tuxedo gown by Christian Siriano. And though Gaga's black Alexander McQueen number was understated in comparison to her Valentino gown from the Golden Globes, she looked every bit a classic Hollywood icon and even became the third person ever to wear the Tiffany Diamond. Other notable moments included a trend of pink looks, Glenn Close's golden Carolina Herrera cape, and Nicholas Hoult and Joe Alwyn posing together in impeccably tailored suits by Dior and Tom Ford.
