Alexander McQueen Introduces Newest Seal Bag For Fall/Winter 2023
Alexander McQueen continues to push its penchant for experimentation and exploration with its new Seal Bag, a curvilinear accessory with a distinctive tribute to the Tudor rose.
The Seal Bag is the new cult accessory by Alexander McQueen, designed by Sarah Burton and presented with the Fall/Winter 2023 collection. A sophisticated and elegant bag that celebrates the rose symbol of the Tudor dynasty and of Queen Elizabeth I — a historical icon for Alexander McQueen already used previously as inspiration for the Fall/Winter 2013 collection by the British brand — which is abstracted in a linear graphic design composed of curves which is also taken up for the metal hardware closure. A seal that evokes the Victorian era, a symbol of romance and pure love (in the case of the white rose) and passionate love (in the case of the red rose), which still today maintains its British royalty by remaining current and in step with the times.
The bag Seal Small comes in a compact version, with linear ergonomics made of soft quilted leather which is taken up by the sophisticated McQueen Seal hardware closure in carved metal. The bag is available in shades of black, soft ivory, red, and dust and has an adjustable leather and chain shoulder strap that makes the bag comfortable to be worn on the shoulder or crossbody.
Interpreting the Seal Bag in the Fall/Winter 2023 campaign lensed by David Sims is the supermodel Lui Wen and the French actress, singer-songwriter, and model (who also walked the catwalk for the Alexander McQueen Anatomy collection presented in Paris ) Yseult. Alexander McQueen's celebration of Britishness with the unmistakable seal that pays homage to the history of the United Kingdom.
