To continue the brand's mission of helping to end plastic waste and reach carbon neutrality by 2050, Adidas presents a one-day-only sustainable fashion pop-up in the heart of New York City.

Featuring vintage and upcycled collections from Basketcase Gallery, Theophilio, Ji Won Choi, and Eva Joan Repair, a few of fashion's greatest leaders in sustainability, the pop-up encourages consumers to properly dispose of their old clothing and invest in environmentally friendly fashion.

While guests can purchase up to two items, weight in used clothing rather than dollars will be required to secure one’s favorite pieces.

For each half-pound of clothing traded in, shoppers will be awarded one point to be put towards the items from each collection. First come, first served vintage tees and hoodies can range from 2-10 points, while sweatpants and skirts can range from 10-12 points.

“Clothing waste is a mounting problem, but facing it head-on and shifting towards a circular future will be our solution,” said Adidas SVP of Sustainability Katja Schreiber. “At Adidas, we see it as our responsibility to bring our consumers along on the journey to create awareness of how purchase choices—from opting for an upcycled shoe to donating end-of-life clothing – can make a huge impact.”

A unique experience for those devoted to stylish sustainability, the pop-up will give guests the opportunity to interact with some of the biggest names in responsible fashion.

While Eva Joan Repair will be offering on-site customizations and repairs to customers who bring in worn-and-torn clothing, Basketcase Gallery will be performing garment personalization via live screen-printing technology.

“Sustainability is instrumental in how we produce our pieces," said Theophilio designer and recipient of the 2021 CFDA Emerging Designer Award. "So, we are thrilled to be developing a bespoke collection made entirely of upcycled product from a brand that shares in our values."
