Acne Studios Unveils Its Reimagined New York City Greene Street Storefront

The new, monochrome look of Acne's Soho shop was celebrated yesterday with cocktails and spring fashion.

Glass panels, tufted wool carpeting, industrial white columns: Acne Studios' Greene Street storefront has been given a futuristic makeover and expansion, entirely monochromatic except for the sparse bursts of spring-time fashion.

For its launch, items from both the men's and women's Spring/Summer 2022 collection were brought in, placed delicately on silver wraparound garment racks and transluscent shelving. Midi dresses, leather jackets, and the brand's signature Musubi bag all made the cut. The new look was designed by the Barcelona-based studio Arquitectura-G, with direction from Jonny Johansson, the visionary behind Acne Studios.

These days, a launch without champagne is no launch at all. So, the brand brought in friends and collaborators to sip on cocktails and check out the new space, located right in the heart of New York City's Soho neighborhood.

Guests were invited to slip inside Acne's new glass-paneled, triangular fitting rooms; traipse across the carpeting, installed by Swedish rug and textile flooring company Kasthall; and bask under the lighting of French designer Benoit Lalloz, who sought to invoke the industrial history of Soho.

The store is now open at 33 Greene Street.
