Versace's Fall/Winter 2022 collection has just been debuted at Milan Fashion Week. From icons like Emily Ratajkowski, Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, and Precious Lee gracing the runway, to the iconic pieces of the new season, Versace outdid themselves for this show.

Versace played into the mini skirt trend that has been taking over the fashion industry right now. Although not as micro as other skirts, the piece found its way into several different looks. Coming in a black and white pinstripe, pink or black houndstooth check, and a denim edition, the new Versace mini skirts are sure to be all the rage. They have a sharp and straight cut, and aren't tightly fitted to the body. They have a boxy silhouette that brings back memories from the Y2K era. However, Versace also debuted a variety of skin-tight maxi skirts as well. Coming in bright neons and different patterns, they serve as a juxtaposition to the mini skirt trend, and provide a pop of class.

Corsets took over the Fall/Winter 2022 runway. Whether they served as indivual tops, or were incorporated into dresses or blazers, the Versace corsets came to impress. Bella and Gigi Hadid rocked two different iterations of the new corsets, Bella wearing one over a shirt style dress, Gigi wearing a corested dress. The corsets hugged each model in all the right places, and when paired with latex tights gave off the most sultry dominatrix vibe.

The '80s came back with shoulder padded blazers. The oversized, boxy shape complemented the shortness of the mini skirts they were paired with, and gave a new look to the power suit. Suits made their debut in black and white houndstooth prints. They were very reminiscent of '60s mod looks, but stylish nonetheless. Corested blazers and blazers with sinched waists were popular as well. The hugging of curves gave a feminie silhouette to a traditional menswear piece.

Latex was the fabric of the hour. Models wore different color latex leggings underneath their garments. It sucked their legs in, and gave an even more elongated look. Although a risky material to mess around with, it paired incredibly well with each outfit. Glitter was another prominent addition to the collection. From sparkling tweed suits, to being used to showcase the Versace logo, the models were shining in different colored glitter.

After receiving lots of praise for their platform heel that came out in 2021, Versace debuted a variety of new platforms. Sticking to a patent leather look, platform heels in a range of colors walked down the runway. Some stayed true to the original design, except had a pointed toe. Other platform heels were given a chunky, lug sole bottom, giving a more industrial look. The platforms didn't stop at heels. Platform boots were added to the mix this season. Skinny, black patent leather boots were paired with mini skirts for a chic combat look.

Overall, the Versace Fall/Winter 2022 collection outdid its previous collections. It played into the more punk/school girl themes of 2022, but did so in a way that was still elegant, and remained true to the brand's motifs.
