Versace Steps into New Era with Men's Fall/Winter 2022 Collection
Donatella Versace talks about the evolution of menswear and the simplification process of the Maison with the new Fall/Winter 2022 menswear collection.
At the heart of the new Versace Fall/Winter 2022 menswear collection is individuality and the desire to create an essential wardrobe suitable for today's fashionable man. Minimal cut garments and simplified silhouettes define the vision of Donatella Versace's creative direction.
"The protagonist of this collection is the Versace 2.0 man. I wanted to give even more prominence to this new chapter by presenting it on the second day of the second month of 2022," explained the designer. "It's about taking a step forward and looking to the future, without focusing on the individual but on the whole, on evolution and diversity. The same values that I see shared by the younger generations that express their masculinity with so much energy."
"This collection encompasses all of this, addressing not the single Versace man but the Versace men as a whole."
Sensuality meets Versace badges as the pieces from the new Fall/Winter 2022 collection reflect the idea and values of the Versace man: a simplified wardrobe that consists of tailored suits, structured garments with checked pinstripe motifs, jacquard wool sweaters, and coats in wool, cashmere, and silk blends. The color palette is lively with clever color blocks and archival prints, such as the new version of the Barocco Silhouette print and the new La Greca pattern, unveiled for the first time during last year's Fall/Winter 2021 fashion show.
Versace decided to present the new collection with a fashion film that is, in many ways, just as much about dressing as it is about undressing. The culmination of this effort is a longing for garments that are rewarding for both their simplicity and functional silhouette for the everyday man.
