Tory Burch Relaunches Iconic Ballet Flat for Spring/Summer 2025
In her Spring/Summer 2025 collection, Tory Burch captures the essence of sport and revisits an iconic brand staple.
Tory Burch's Spring/Summer 2025 collection, unveiled at Skylight at the Refinery during New York Fashion Week, uses the theme of sport without the actual sportswear.
The inspiration of sport doesn't come as a surprise, as Burch released a sportswear line back in 2015 and has been an advocate for some good athleisure. However, rather than an actual sportswear collection with functional performance workout clothes, Burch entertained the essence of what sport means to her, focusing on movement, freedom, and precision. Burch reimagined the industrial venue by transforming it with pool tile walls and floors, honing in on the idea of sport and a sense of synchronicity.
This season, Burch placed a strong emphasis on textures and fabrics rather than prints, an idea she followed for last year's Spring/Summer 2024 collection as well, experimenting with different shapes and silhouettes. Standout pieces this year included suede pants and sheer blouses with ruffles and exaggerated sleeves.
Burch, who celebrated the 20th anniversary of her fashion house earlier this year, added an unexpected twist to the collection with the reintroduction of the Reva Ballet Flat. The iconic shoe put her on the map within the fashion industry in the early aughts, when every It girl from Anne Hathaway to Blake Lively was seen sporting it. Featuring her signature T logo, the Reva Flat is a nod to her roots, a nostalgic yet modern twist.
Burch's collection drew an impressive crowd, including fashion icons like Anna Wintour and Hollywood stars Michelle Williams, Elizabeth Olsen, Mindy Kaling, Charlotte Lawrence, and Maude Apatow.
