Since becoming the ultimate design duo, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/best-prada-fashion-looks" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Miuccia</a><a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/best-prada-fashion-looks" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&nbsp;Prada</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/raf-simons-shuts-down-namesake-brand" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Raf Simons</a> have crafted together collections that redefine the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/prada-mens-spring-summer-2024-collection-fashion-show-every-look" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Prada</a> uniform, bringing something forward fresh yet familiar. The label has become known for its elevated simplicity and grounded basics. Taking place at the Fondazione Prada Deposito, for its Spring/Summer 2024 collection, the Italian fashion house continues to break down the Prada uniform in a modern fashion.
The first look set the tone for what was to come, as a model walked in a button-down dress shirt and high-waist trouser shorts, with an asymmetrical cape draped on top. The collection was a lesson on structure versus fluidity: Crisp collared shirts paired with fringe-like skirt overlays, gauzy midi dresses with boxy silhouettes, and formal workwear tops styled with sheer skirts. The slime-like substance dripping from the ceiling and dividing the runway echoed the movement captured in the garments as each model took a step. The play on textures and materiality was an unexpected but welcome twist to it all, giving it a youthful touch without abandoning the expectations of its loyal fan base.
That's not to say it still wasn't quintessential Prada. The collection in its entirety still was a contrast between Miuccia's feminine touches and Simons' menswear influences.
Giving a hint of nostalgia, the metal detailing and leather pieces added a grungy element to it all. While the collection was anything but understated (with its distinct prints and unique design techniques), it certainly wasn't gimmicky either, proving that great clothes are defined by quality, craft, and creativity, not spectacle.
Enjoying the front row were stars such as <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/timothee-chalamet-kylie-jenner-dating-relationship-timeline" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kylie Jenner</a>, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion/ayo-edebiri-outfits-best-fashion-moments-style-actress" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ayo Edebiri</a>, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/dominic-fike-hunter-schafer-break-up-split" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hunter Schafer</a>, Amanda Gorman, Letitia Wright, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/fashion-week/every-look-louis-vuitton-men-fall-winter-2023-collection-runway-photos" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rosal&iacute;a</a>, Emma Watson, Benedict Cumberbatch, and <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/young-photos-scarlett-johansson-90s-2000s-age" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Scarlett Johansson</a>.
