Miu Miu Embraces the Explorer Girl for Fall/Winter 2021
Is it social detachment that you wanted? Miuccia Prada took her Miu Miu girls to show the brand's Fall/Winter 2021 collection in real cold weather. The runway show was filmed in the snow-covered Dolomites, a mountainous region in northern Italy. It was the perfect excuse to dress the models with heavy knit overlays, manual crochet, wool, and other thermal fabrics.
Since Raf Simons joined Miuccia as Prada's co-Creative Director, the designer has maintained in Miu Miu her unencumbered artistic vision for the direction of youth fashion. This season, the retro, feminine touches Miu Miu typically embues in its ideal high school fashionista give space to a more exploratory woman, crossing mountains for a feminist convention around the campfire. Still, she dresses in style with heavy ocher-colored coats, wide trousers, and dresses embroidered with stones used on cashmere pullovers. Hand-made caps with detachable mouth guards may not provide protection against the coronavirus, but they will certainly be photographed in fashion editorial shoots throughout the season.
