It's no secret Milan holds incomparable power in the fashion world. As the homebase of dozens of the world's biggest and most important brands, Milan Fashion Week is one of the most significant events in the fashion industry. The shows and collections shown in the Italian capital will influence fashion trends for months to come, signaling a changing market and a shift in seasons.
This MFW, we saw the fashion capital pull out pastel colors and nudes, sparkles, and of course florals. (For spring? Groundbreaking!) Animal print is also alive and well for the Spring/Summer 2025 season, according to the designers in Milan, with snake and leopard prints coming from Prada and Roberto Cavalli, to name a few. Many brands took a more retro/vintage route, with Gucci inspired by Jackie-O and Fendi influenced by the flappers of the 1920s. Versace also possessed a 70s retro flair, showing color prints and vests that resemble those of that era, with intermixing patterns and sequin skirts and dresses. Dolce and Gabbana’s show held a similar vintage vibe, with dresses and tops reflecting those of the 50s/60s with the signature Marilyn Monroe blonde hair and pointed breast tops. It seems as though Milan has shown us that we shouldn’t be looking towards the future, but instead look backwards.
From Moschino’s leather shopping bags to Gucci’s Jackie-O inspired collection, below are the most important Spring/Summer 2025 looks from Milan Fashion Week.
