10 Steps to Recreate TikTok's Revenge Makeup

Revenge makeup has been everywhere on TikTok. Naturally luminous skin, sculpted cheekbones, and a dark eye would make any ex-lover realize what they missed. Though it's sultry and sexy, revenge makeup takes '90s glam to the next level with pronounced contour and a rosy lip. Step 1: Prime

Prepping the skin is arguably the most important step for any makeup look. If your skin is not properly moisturized, base makeup will not sit properly. To start off revenge makeup, we recommend choosing a nourishing primer. If you struggle with oilier skin, opt for a gripping primer that will ensure that makeup lasts. If uneven texture and pores are an issue, there are many "pore-filling" primer options.

Step 2: Conceal

A key element of revenge makeup is its effortlessness. In order to prevent any cakiness from occurring, L'OFFICIEL recommends concealing before foundation. Add a small amount under the eyes, around the nose, and to any discoloration or blemishes that your skin may have. For concealers, opt for a creamy, moisturizing formula that blends into your skin type beautifully.

Step 3: Foundation

Because we opted for concealer before the rest of the routine, there is less of a need for too much foundation. Instead, choose your favorite glowy formula, pat it into the palm of your hand, and blend seamlessly onto the skin with a full foundation blending brush.

Step 4: Contour

Now that the face is glowy and even, contouring is the next step. For contour, we recommend choosing a cream formula with a cool-toned shade to emulate the natural shadows on the face. Simply swipe the contour under the cheekbones and follow the natural line down to the chin. Add some to your forehead, the bridge of your nose, and under the jawbone. Blend with a sponge or brush, whichever you prefer.

Step 5: Blush

Choose your favorite liquid or cream blush, and add it to the high point of your cheeks. For a brighter look, you can add a small amount of blush to the bridge of your nose as well. Blend with a sponge or brush.

Step 6: Set

Now that the base is finished, we need to set everything into place. L'OFFICIEL recommends using a setting spray, followed by a setting powder, and then finishing with the setting spray again. This ensures that the makeup is locked into place for all of your "revenge" needs.

Step 7: Powdered Products

This step is optional, but you can enhance the contour or blush with powdered formulas of either. If you want to exaggerate the cheekbones, swipe your favorite powder contour over the cream formula. If you want brighter cheeks, add a powder blush on top of the cream.

Step 8: Eye Base

To prep the eyes, use a similar contour shade as the one used previously in the crease of the eyelids. This will blend the colors from your face altogether and create an effortless look.

Step 9: Eyes
