Wendy Yu Values the Passions of Others

Fashion investor (DiDi, Mary Katrantzou, and Cefinn are a few investments) and philanthropist (she supports arts organizations like the Met Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum), Wendy Yu was cited as “the most powerful woman in fashion you’ve never heard of” in the UK Times. She is often spotted with Anna Wintour, who told the Wall Street Journal: “She is an absolute lover of culture and creativity” who “takes a globally-minded view of fashion” and is “as well-versed in fashion history as she is in knowing who from the new generation of designers is worthy of her support.”
Where does Yu get her sharp instinct and insight? Smiling, Yu discloses that the secret is to value the hearts and passions of others. She likes talking to people, listening to their stories and aspirations. “Without dreams, fashion loses its marvel and aura,” she says.
