ArtCrush 2021 Concludes with Annual Gala and Auction
The Aspen Art Museum said au revoir to this year's ArtCrush festival after an exciting three days of art, performances, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
This year, the Aspen Art Museum celebrated the return of its in-person ArtCrush festival including the annual summer gala and auction. The event was co-chaired by Amy Phelan and Jamie Tisch, while Mary Weatherford was the Aspen Award for Art 2021 Honoree.
Over the course of the three-day event, attendees were treated to a number of art installations from established names as well as up-and-comers. In addition, the festival hosted speakers like Doris Salcedo, Naima Keith, Allan Schwartzman, and Rebecca Siegel who spoke at the "Entropy and New Monuments" panel.
One of the festival's sponsors, Prada, also used the event as the venue for its new Prada Outdoor Mountain pop-up, which offered an alpine activation that took guests on a hike through the Rocky Mountains and ended with a lunch prepared by the Spiral Theory Test Kitchen at the Pine Creek Cookhouse.
To cap off the festivities, the museum invited some of the art world's biggest names to its summer gala and auction which showcased a collection of 45 donated works of art spanning a multitude of mediums including painting, sculpture, ceramics, weaving, photography, paper works, and design art. All proceed from the auction will benefit the AAM's educational art programs.
