This High-Tech, Luxury Jet has TV Screens Instead of Windows
Swiss design company Yasava has created a new business jet that not only reduces the carbon footprint of its aircrafts' interiors, but also looks breathtaking, too. The project focuses on obtaining materials from producers with ecological responsibility, in addition to finding high quality recycled aluminum to replace the use of freshly-extracted metal. According to the company's founder and CEO Christopher Mbanefo, the effect is remarkable: a reduction in environmental impact by 80 percent.
Yasava's new business jet has another high-tech surprise in store for its big spenders: high-resolution Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) screens have replaced the vehicle's windows. Similar to the screens of the latest generation of smartphones, the TV screens cover the walls of the entire interior of the aircraft, allowing a wide variety of finishes and effects. With just a click of a button, passengers can switch from a corporate setting to a relaxing setting under the sea. The incredible finish does not require a cover of the aircraft, as was the case previously.
Mbanefo and his team are also committed to carbon trends, and have plans to launch a blockchain-linked platform, Oxï-Zen. Through the new portal, members will be able to purchase ownership of individual carbon sinks, such as a specific forest or body of water, that cannot be replaced or reused. The system, developed in part by research from the ETH Zürich university, makes it possible to identify how, when, and where carbon is sequestered, in order to calibrate the carbon absorption capacities of each location. While the creation of a business jet with zero carbon footprint has not yet been achieved, the alternatives presented by Yasava play an important role in reducing the damage caused to the environment.
