Outdoor Exercising is Finally Chic with New NYC Equinox Club
Donned Equinox+ In The Wild, the members-only sports club has everything one might need—except four walls.
Like much of everything else, working out has completely changed over the last six months due to COVID-19 safety restrictions and general life at home. While some have opted to invest in at-home equipment sets (re: body weight bands and whatever else can be stored underneath platform beds), others have turned to the great outdoors for their fitness kick. The only problem? The outside is, well the outside.
Unveiled today and opening tomorrow, Equinox's newest NYC club, Equinox+ In The Wild, solves any concerns of inside contamination for those still not ready to return to regular fitness. Situated at the cross street of 10th Ave and 30th street in Manhattan—steps away from Equinox's flagship location and hotel at Hudson Yards—the fully functioning sports club allows members to sweat without the fear of no air-flow. Reminiscent of the old Fashion Week at Bryant Park, the strength tiled and rolled rubber floored fitness space is part open-air, part-tented, allowing for free circulation with all the comforts and security of the luxury gym.
Inside are all the accoutrements one would expect from a high-level Equinox sports club such as full weight sets, personal training, and even a food truck station, with an unencumbered view of both the city's Empire State Building and local street art.
Like other clubs, the location, which follows Equinox's highly-Instagrammed opening in LA earlier this month, has limited capacity and is only open to Destination, Equinox E, and Executive members via advanced sign up.
Equinox+ In The Wild opens tomorrow, Saturday, October 3, 2020.
