Martell's New Cognac Reinvents the Future

With its new addition, Chanteloup XXO, the Martell company masterfully displayed its art of assembly, which it celebrated with the Martell Home Live event in Singapore.

With simple yet robust ideas at its core, the house of Martell has successfully navigated the tumultuous world of luxury spirits since its creation in 1715. These ideas revolve around three fundamental notions: a “terroir,” long-standing expertise, and the art of transmission without which all innovation is artificial. Crowning these three notions is a quintessential value: the emotion that deliciously weaves together the heart, the palate, and the spirit. With its new XXO cognac, the Martell House delivers yet another product at the image of the house's masterful take on distilled liquor.

By presenting a full-bodied flavor and power, Chanteloup XXI gradually infuses the palate with a wide range of flavors, and its balanced and elegant finish is surprisingly persistent. It's a luxurious creation, and the entire experience surrounding it will confirm the aforementioned claims. Perhaps it's even a bespoke experience, as some insiders would say. To accompany the enlightened amateurs in their discovery of the cognac's rich and complex assembly, the house has created Martell Chanteloup XXO Masterpiece, pairing what may be their best cognac yet with a made-to-order trunk developed by the Ateliers Normand. Containing two watches (bottles traditionally used for sampling) elegantly arranged around the bottle of cognac, this piece relishes in the peculiarity of its craftsmanship. The two watches will be hand-picked by the customer, who will receive assistance from Christophe Valtaud himself.

Perhaps luxury is also an art of conversation, and this is precisely what was in the spotlight on December 4 in Singapore with the sequel of Martell Home Live, led by Korean-American legend Judy Joo. In this episode, the dialogue nestled among cultural pioneers like Carol Lim and Humberto Leon of Opening Ceremony, entrepreneur Arthur Bray, Thai musician Daboyway, and journalist and racecar driver Claire Jedrek, as well as culinary experts Esu Lee (known for C.A.M. in Paris), the Ghetto Gastro collective, mixologist Mel John Chavez, and Mary Chow (who is strongly involved in promoting the rights of the LGBTQ community). The conversation revolved around boldness, commitment, authenticity, and creativity: all values that mirror the house’s creative dynamic and backbone. Along with customized cocktails, the menu included bao as well as a gourmet and voluptuous ravioli re-conceived in its pairing with the courses prepared by culinary masters, who all infused Martell's best cognac with ever more surprising and interesting perspectives.

Martell Chanteloup XXO will soon be available for $430 at the Martell boutique in Cognac and at partner distributors worldwide. Martell Chanteloup XXO Masterpiece is available on special order. Price upon request.
