Blue Outfits to Enter Your '1989' Era (Taylor's Version, Of Course)

After announcing the upcoming release of 1989 (Taylor's Version), Taylor Swift has dubbed 1989 blue as the new color of the season.

Reigning as one of the most powerful forces in the music industry, Taylor Swift has built an empire in bedazzled Louboutins. As she announced last night at the final performance of the U.S. leg of the Eras Tour in Los Angeles, 1989 (Taylor's Version) is set to be released on October 27, 2023. With hits "Shake it Off," "Blank Space," "Wildest Dreams," and more, 1989 (Taylor's Version) will counteract the idea that women in the music industry need to shrink away and take up as little space as possible, the driving message behind all of Swift's music. With each new release, Taylor Swift's potent, inimitable influence is a guiding force in establishing trends in not just the music industry, but fashion, as well. Not even 24 hours after the surprise announcement of 1989 (Taylor's Version), Swift has created a new fashion trend that has already begun to go viral: 1989-inspired blue outfits.

As displayed last night, Taylor Swift foreshadowed the re-recording of 1989 by changing the color of a number of routine outfits fans expected to see upon attending the Eras Tour to a 1989 blue, such as the lavender ball gown worn during "Enchanted" and the hunter green gown typically worn during the acoustic portion of the show. Though subtle, Swifties did not miss a beat, as 1989-inspired blue outfits have already begun to circulate the internet as Swift closes the U.S. leg of the Eras Tour and heads to Europe.

If you are as excited for 1989 (Taylor's Version) as we are, take a look at these 1989-inspired blue outfits to represent Queen Taylor as we await her return to the States next year.

Kika Vargas

Available exclusively at Ssense, this blue mini-dress from Kika Vargas in 1989-blue is a must-have for those searching for new beginnings. As discussed in Swift's "Welcome to New York" track from 1989, there is nothing quite like moving to a new city with your closest friends and looking good while doing so. As seen in Swift's many costume changes throughout the Eras Tour, there is no confidence quite like that from a mini-dress.
