Who is Actor and Musician Dylan Minnette?

Whether you recognize his face from his staring role in 13 Reasons Why or his voice from playing in the band Wallows, you have definitely heard of Dylan Minnette. The 25-year-old actor and musician has been making a name for himself for years.

Minnette started his acting career at just 9 years old, getting one-episode appearances on shows like Drake and Josh and Grey's Anatomy. His first main TV role in TNT's Saving Grace earned him a Young Artist Award in 2008. Minette's first major feature film role was in 2010's Let Me In alongside Chloë Grace Moretz and Kodi Smit-McPhee.

Minnette's breakout roles, however, come from the critically-acclaimed 2013 movie Prisoners with Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal and Netflix's 13 Reason's Why four-season series in which he plays the lead, Clay Jensen. Most recently, he had a recurring role on Hulu's The Dropout and starred in Scream 5. 

If you're not familiar with Dylan Minnette's on-screen career, maybe you've heard of his off-screen venture into music with the band Wallows. In 2011, at 15 years old, Minnette started Wallows (then called Join The Band) with Braeden Lemasters and Cole Preston. 

The band sky-rocketed in 2019 when they released their single "Are You Bored Yet?" with Clairo. Earlier this year, they played Coachella after dropping their sophomore album Tell Me That It's Over. While Minnette doesn't have any acting projects coming up soon, you can catch Wallows on their worldwide tour for the rest of 2022 and into 2023.
