Rihanna Responds to New Billionaire Status
The "Umbrella" singer had a short but sweet reply to being named a the world's richest female musician.
In typically Bad Gal RiRi fashion, Rihanna is unfazed by her newly-minted billionaire title. Last week, Forbes declared the singer as an official billionaire, making her the richest female musician and the second-richest female entertainer—only behind Oprah Winfrey.
However, when approached by paparazzi in New York City this weekend, the singer gave no indication that she was rattled by the news. When asked how it felt to be a "self-made billionaire," she simply replied, "God is good."
The publication estimated Rihanna's net worth at about $1.7 billion, primarily due to her growing fashion and beauty businesses. According to Forbes, Fenty Beauty is valued at $2.8 billion, giving the "Bitch Better Have My Money" singer's 50% ownership a $1.4 billion price tag. The remainder of her fortune comes from her lingerie line Savage x Fenty, in which she owns a partial stake, which is worth an estimated $270 million, as well as the continuing royalties from her longstanding music career.
