Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Welcome Daughter Lilibet Diana
On June 4, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed a daughter named Lilibet "Lili" Diana in honor of Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana.
In the last year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been at the center of many controversies surrounding the British Royal Family, however, the couple recently announced the exciting news that they welcomed their second child, Lilibet Diana, over the weekend.
In January 2020, the couple announced that they would be withdrawing from their "real" and "institutional" roles as official members of the Royal Family. It was later made official, through a press release, that Harry and Meghan will no longer be able to use the title of Royal Highnesses. Losing this treatment, their public image now seems increasingly confused. Later, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex opened up about their departure in an interview with Oprah Winfrey which led to several eye-opening revelations about racism and mental health stigma within the Royal Family.
This time, however, the announcement of the Sussexes' second child brings only good news to the family. On June 4, Lilibet "Lili" Diana was born, boasting a special name that pays homage to two important figures in history and Harry's life. The name is a tribute to Harry's late mother Princess Diana and to Queen Elizabeth II.
"We chose this name in honor of our great-grandmother, Her Majesty the Queen, using her nickname in the family. The second name is a tribute to the grandmother, Lady Diana."

After the announcement of Lili's birth, congratulations arrived from all over the world, especially in the comments to the posts published by the official social channels of some members of the Royal Family. The two spouses do not currently use their Instagram profile for this type of official communication. However, we will soon have news of them also regarding the possibility of their rejoining social media. Despite this, the good wishes arrived, especially those of their family. Harry's brother Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton posted a photo of Harry and Meghan on their personal account, writing, "We are delighted with the good news of little Lili's arrival. Congratulations to Harry, Meghan, and Archie."
Harry's father Prince Charles and his wife Camilla also expressed their excitement about the news in a social media post, writing, "Congratulations to Harry, Meghan, and Archie on the arrival of little Lilibet Diana, we wish them well in this special moment."
Despite the best wishes and congratulations, Harry and Meghan's separation from the Royal Family has become clearer since their move to California. In fact, on their official website, Harry and Meghan's profiles have been demoted. While they were before ranked under Harry's older brother William and his family, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now listed after the Queen's other children—Harry's aunts and uncles.
