Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks' Iconic Rivalry is Back On
Although Naomi Campbell and Tyra Banks apparently officially buried their infamous "rivalry" years ago, it seems that some things remain the same.
This week, Campbell took to Instagram to share an article entitled "Here's Why Fans Are Starting To Think Tyra Banks Is The Real Mean Girl, Not Naomi Campbell."
The Things article was an unflattering moment for Banks, who currently hosts Dancing with the Stars," and highlighted some controversial moments of her time as the host of America's Next Top Model, which just debuted on Netflix in the U.S. While the modeling competition show was considered revolutionary in its heyday, recently moments from the series have reappeared casting its host in a bad light.
During the early 1990s, Campbell and Banks had a tense relationship dynamic. Born in California, Banks said the British supermodel made her feel unwelcome when she first entered the fashion industry.
“As much as I was getting fashion shows, people didn't know that I would come home at night crying a lot because the woman I admired didn't want me to be there and was doing everything in her power to make me go away, ” she said.
While the two publicly "made up" in 2005 when Banks confronted Naomi on her daytime talk show Tyra, it seems that the truce is no longer in effect.
