It's official! Michelle Obama is the most admired woman in the world in 2019. According to a new study conducted by YouGov, looking at which figures the public most admires, the former first lady received the highest number of votes, beating the winner of 2018, Angelina Jolie.
Michelle was followed closely by Oprah Winfrey, while Jolie fell to third place. Queen Elizabeth II was crowned the fourth most admired woman, followed by Emma Watson as the fifth. Michelle's husband, former President Barack Obama, also proved popular, ranking second in the list of most admired men. At the top of the men's list was Bill Gates for the second consecutive year.
A total of 42,000 people participated in the survey in 41 different countries.
