Jeremy Allen White Addresses the Comment He Left on Alexa Demie's Calvin Klein Photoshoot
Looks like the actor wasn't shooting his shot after all.
Jeremy Allen White just shared with the world the real reason why he left that comment about Alexa Demie. The comment in question was left under Demie's latest Calvin Klein campaign video featuring the actress modeling in the brand's various denim outfits and underwear. Shortly after, Allen White took to the comments section and posted a simple "Wow."
That three-letter comment sent the internet into a frenzy, pushing for numerous think pieces speculating if Allen White was trying to shoot his shot with Demie, despite having recently been spotted kissing model Ashley Moore a few days prior.
As it turns out, the whole interaction had nothing but innocent intentions. In an interview with British GQ, Allen White shares that he only meant it as a compliment to the shoot.
Immediately after his comment made headlines, he said he called his publicist. "I was like, "I just need to shut the fuck up. I just shouldn’t say anything,’” he remembered. “And she was like, ‘Kind of.’”
Allen White's opening up about the Demie situation follows his disclosure about how he has dealt with a severe lack of privacy since rising to superstardom in Hollywood. His first leap of fame is attributed to his starring role in Shameless, though he's only become more well known from his role as Carmy in The Bear.
The result of his overexposure is the public (and as a result, the paparazzi) garnering an interest in every aspect of Allen White's life. In the interview, he revealed he gave a rare comment about his divorce from Addison Timlin and the impact it had on him considering the private situation became extremely public.
“It’s been insane,” White said when asked how his year’s gone. “A lot of high highs, a lot of terribly low lows.”
Allen White speaks further about the discomfort he feels being followed by the paparazzi: “They know where I live,” White said. “There was a period where they were just chilling and when I would pull out [of the driveway], they would follow, and when I got home they were there.”
The paparazzi have gone as far as to take photos at his kids' soccer games. So in able to discourage the tabloids, Allen White eventually began to wear the same outfit every day at the games: “Ratty black shirt, Adidas slides, my [Mets] cap I wear every day,” he said.
“They did kind of stop,” White said about the new approach.
Even so, the public interest in Allen White will likely not dim anytime soon as he is set to star in the upcoming film Iron Claw, which will be released on Dec. 22. Beyond Allen White, the film stars Zac Efron, Lily James, Harris Dickinson, and Maxwell Jacobs — following the true story behind the Von Erich family, a family of wrestlers in the sport’s ’80s heyday.
