Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez Call Off Engagement
It seems one of social media's favorite couple have called it quits. Page Six reports that Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have broke up after over four years together. Prior to the split, a source spoke to the outlet, implying that distance was sending their relationship down a negative path. Said an insider from ARod's camp, “He’s now in Miami getting ready for baseball season, and she’s filming her movie in the Dominican Republic.”
Currently, JLo is in the Dominican Republic shooting her upcoming project Shotgun Wedding. Just last month, the pair were spotted on location for the movie together, sharing cozy photos on Instagram. Earlier this week, it was reported that sources close to the couple confirmed that their wedding, which has already been postponed twice due to the coronavirus pandemic, was still in their future.
No definitive reason has been given for the break-up, nor have either Lopez or Rodriguez made a statement.
The pair first began dating in early 2017. The baseball star eventually got down on one knee in March 2019 while on vacation. They had plans to marry in 2020, however, with COVID-19 restrictions, they chose to wait so that they could celebrate the big day with all their family and friends.
Earlier this year, it seemed like the couple might be headed for troubled waters as rumors arose of ARod having a secret relationship with Madison Lecroy, a cast member of the Bravo reality show Southern Charm. Both Lecroy and Rodriguez denied the affair, however, Lopez did reveal in an interview released shortly thereafter that the fiancés did go to couples' therapy while quarantining together. She told Allure of being in lockdown with her partner, “It has been actually really good. We got to work on ourselves. We did therapy."
