Childish Gambino Shocks Fans With Surprise Album Release and Tour

Childish Gambino shocked fans last night after dropping his latest album ATAVISTA. The album is a completed and revised work from his 2020 album, 3.15.20. 

The new album has two new songs and rearranged versions of his previous songs from 3.15.20, including collaborations with Young Nudy, 21 Savage, Summer Walker, and Ariana Grande.

"...This album is the finished version of 3.15.20, the album I put out 4 years ago. There's a special vinyl coming soon w/ visuals for each song," Glover explained in a post on X, then shared to his Instagram followers. 

Glover also made sure to address the other album he had mentioned previously, stating it will arrive this summer with all new songs. 

ATAVISTA has a total of 11 songs, rounding out to be about a 50-minute listen. The title track opens up the album with a funky instrumental for the first minute of the song. Other standouts including his collab with Grande, entitled "Time." 

Along with the new album release, Glover didn't stop there. One of his songs featuring Young Nudy, "Little Foot Big Foot" was turned into a special music video, also released at the same time as the album. 

The music video, inspired by what seems to be from 1920s black and white cinema, shows Childish Gambino pulling out all the stops with his dance moves. Already number three trending on YouTube, the music video is Gambino's first in almost 6 years. 

With all this new content from Glover, he also made another big announcement: tour dates. 

Via Instagram, Glover shared his plans of jetting off on a world tour entitled "The New World Tour", which will include songs from the latest album, including the newest one on the way. 

General onsale begins Friday, May 17th
