Though the pop star has finally been freed, the legal battle continues.

<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/britney-spears-finally-speaks-out-controversial-documentary" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Britney Spears</a> may have recently been freed from a controversial <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/britney-spears-father-jamie-agrees-to-step-down-from-conservatorship" target="_blank" rel="noopener">13-year conservatorship</a>&mdash;which was finally terminated in November thanks in part to the viral #FreeBritney movement&mdash;but it appears that conflict between the pop star and her father, Jamie Spears, will not end any time soon.
According to&nbsp;<a href="https://variety.com/2021/music/news/britney-spears-father-legal-fees-1235140042/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Variety</a>, Jamie petitioned the court to have Britney's estate continue to pay his legal fees despite the end of the conservatorship.

Throughout the conservatorship, Britney was required to pay her father's legal bills, even while she was fighting her own <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/britney-spears-conservatorship-hearing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">legal battle</a> to be free from the arrangement.&nbsp;
The petition states that &ldquo;prompt payment on account of Jamie&rsquo;s attorneys&rsquo; fees is necessary to ensure the Conservatorship can be wound up quickly and efficiently to allow Britney to take control of her life as she and Jamie desire.&rdquo; In response, Britney's attorney called the request an "abomination," and called into question the millions of dollars Jamie reaped from his daughter's work while he was managing her estate.&nbsp;
