On July 31, the world was completely taken aback as the news of the unexpected death of Angus Cloud circled the internet.

"It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother, and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways," his family said in a statement obtained by TMZ. "Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence."

While the reason for his death has not yet been confirmed, there is speculation it may have been an overdose, as his mother called 911 on Monday morning and he did not have a pulse. With his tragic death shocking us all, many Hollywood celebrities including Cloud's fellow Euphoria co-stars were quick to give emotional tributes in remembrance of him.

Lukas Gage was one of the first to react, posting on his Instagram story with the caption "rip @anguscloud" with a broken heart emoji. Javon “Wanna” Walton, who played Cloud's little brother on Euphoria, posted on his Instagram story a photo of the two captioned, "Forever family."

Euphoria star Zendaya shared a lengthy tribute to her friend on Instagram, writing, "Words are not enough to describe the infinite beauty that is Angus (Conor). I’m so grateful I got the chance to know him in this life, to call him a brother, to see his warm kind eyes and bright smile, or hear his infectious cackle of a laugh (I’m smiling now just thinking of it) I know people use this expression often when talking about folks they love…'they could light up any room they entered' but boy let me tell you, he was the best at it. I’d like to remember him that way. For all of the boundless light, love and joy he always managed to give us. I’ll cherish every moment."

Another Euphoria star, Sydney Sweeney, also gives a lengthy, heartfelt tribute on Instagram, captioning the post, "Angus you were an open soul, with the kindest heart, and you filled every room with laughter. This is the hardest thing ive ever had to post, and im struggling to find all the words. You will be missed more than you know, but I'm so blessed to have known you in this lifetime, and I'm sure everyone who has ever met you feels the same. This heartache is real and I wish we could've had one more hug and 711 run. All my love is with you."

Storm Reid, who plays the younger sister of Rue (Zendaya) on the show, posted a clip from the show on Instagram captioning, "the tears just won't stop."

Alexa Demie posted a blank black screen on her Instagram story with nothing but the broken heart emoji.

According to a statement acquired by Deadline, Euphoria creator Sam Levinson said, "There was no one quite like Angus. He was too special, too talented, and way too young to leave us so soon. He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. I loved him. I always will. Rest in peace and God Bless his family."

Drake, Euphoria's executive producer, honored Cloud's passing per a post on his Instagram story captioning it, "Good soul."

Meanwhile, a representative for Euphoria and HBO tweeted on Monday evening, "We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time."

Kathrine Narducci, who played a guest role as Cloud’s grandmother in the beginning of Season 2, tweeted “#anguscloud @anguscloud you were a gentle beautiful soul. You exited too soon. (((((; @euphoriaHBO."

The 25-year-old was best known for his breakout role as Fezco in the hit series Euphoria. The show was renewed for Season 3 but has been with significant production delays at first due to Levinson's focus on his recently released show The Idol followed by more setbacks from the ongoing writers' and actors' strikes.

“Everything seems to be sometimes easier,” he told L'OFFICIEL in 2020 in regard to his sudden stardom and unexpected step into the acting world. "But don’t get me wrong. This is still regular me."

"We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter, and love for everyone," Cloud's family said per TMZ. "We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss."
