Fashion Is Key in Addison Rae's 'Aquamarine' Music Video
The singer wears fresh-off-the-runway pieces and Louboutin's infamous red soles, among other sexy ensembles.
Addison Rae just released her latest single and a corresponding music video. It revels in sultry romance, dark glamor, and, perhaps most importantly, fashion. Enter "Aquamarine."
The video, which debuted at midnight on October 25, spans several scenes, including what feels like an Old Hollywood masquerade party, Rae in a bathtub, montages of choreography, and nighttime city streets. Synth-y, electronic beats contrast the vintage feeling of the cinematography, shot by Sean Price Williams and creative directed by Mel Ottenberg, editor-in-chief of Interview. Rae's outfits are not to be missed.
Looks are styled by Dara Allen, who is also Interview's fashion director. She dressed the pop star in fresh-off-the-runway designs by Di Pesta, in addition to sparkly, sheer numbers by The Attico and Isabel Marant, in which Rae chain-smokes. Allen nailed the naked dress trend that's ruled fashion lately while making it new again on Rae. The shoe of choice? Christian Louboutin's iconic red-soled heels, which are featured in the chair scene. Altogether, the fashion choices underscore breathy, lustful vocals while deepening the video's cinematic aura.
The video is playful and sensual, two traits that define her music, like in her recent smash, "Diet Pepsi." These latest songs seem like key moments in the star's evolution in the public eye, and she's not backing down from change. "I’ve gone through my own journey of figuring that out in the last few years, and... I plan on evolving and growing and transforming and realigning with myself and who I dream to be, and being very unapologetic on the journey there," she told Harper's Bazaar in a recent interview.
