The actor &mdash; co-parent to four kids &mdash; knew he wanted to be a father at a young age.

He may be a top actor in the industry, but before anything, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/sam-aaron-taylor-johnson-relationship-timeline-marriage-kids" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Aaron Taylor-Johnson</a> is a devoted father and husband.&nbsp;
In a recent <a href="https://www.esquire.com/entertainment/a44730888/aaron-taylor-johnson-interview-2023/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview with Esquire</a>, Taylor-Johnson opens up about parenthood, being the co-parent to four kids (all girls) with <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/sam-aaron-taylor-johnson-relationship-timeline-marriage-kids" target="_blank" rel="noopener">his wife, Sam</a>. Their kids are Romy Hero, 11, Wylda Rae, 13, Jessie, 16, and Angelica, 25 &mdash; the latter two are from Sam's previous marriage with ex-husband Jay Jopling.
"Teenagers, man," Taylor-Johnson said. "I&rsquo;ve got teenagers."
That said, he always knew he "was going to have a big family," as he <a href="https://www.esquire.com/entertainment/a44730888/aaron-taylor-johnson-interview-2023/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told the outlet</a>. "I knew I was going to be a young father. I knew I was going to have many kids."

Taylor-Johnson met his wife on the set of the 2009 drama Nowhere Boy when he was 18 and she was 41. A year later they got engaged, shortly followed by their official marriage and her getting pregnant with their first child.&nbsp;
In the mid-2010s, the British actor landed roles in major blockbuster films such as Avengers and Kick-Ass. Speaking on why he ended up not continuing down that path and why he's more selective on what projects he takes on, he said, "I wanted, purely, to be with my babies. I didn&rsquo;t want to be taken away from them. I battled with what that would be like."
As both Sam and Taylor-Johnson are originally from England, the couple moved their family back to their home country after the pandemic, where they currently reside.&nbsp;
"I enjoy the normality of things, the everyday stuff," he said. "Getting my kids ready in the mornings, taking them to school and activities&mdash;that&rsquo;s plenty.&nbsp;That&nbsp;feeds my soul."

The 23-year age gap between Sam and Taylor-Johnson has been the subject of minor controversy since their relationship became known, however, the actor doubled down on their love for one another.&nbsp;
"'I think we&rsquo;re really great at collaborating. But that&rsquo;s not why I fell in love with her,' he said. It was another one of those gut instincts, he says&mdash;he knew right away when he met Sam."
"I&rsquo;m trying to be as honest as possible," he added in regard to his relationship. "I&rsquo;ve probably talked to you more about my kids and Sam than I have with anybody. I&rsquo;ve got really nothing to hide, and I&rsquo;m secure in what we have. But I&rsquo;m not going to unlock things that are actually precious to me."
Beyond his family, Taylor-Johnson still does currently act, as he is next to star in the upcoming film Kraven the Hunter. He is also rumored to possibly have been chosen as the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/new-james-bond-actor-rumors-predictions" target="_blank" rel="noopener">next James Bond</a>, a speculation that he didn't address in the interview (but he also didn't outright deny).
