At just 22 years old, singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams has already achieved massive success. This past year, she opened for the Grammy-winning musician Olivia Rodrigo on a few of her Sour tour stops. She already has two EPs—This is What It Feels Like and Minor—as well as a large social following. So much so that the TikTok hashtag #gracieabrams has over 189 million views and the singer herself has amassed over 1 million Instagram followers and 597,000 on TikTok

If her name doesn't immediately ring a bell, a viral TikTok sound might. From outfit of the day videos to people spilling their random thoughts, the sped-up version of the words "I see the look in your eye and I'm biting my tongue / You'd be the love of my life when I was young," from her song "21" has been used over 12,000 times in various TikTok clips.

In high school, Abrams wrote her first songs, and has since been captivating fans with her genuine lyrics, like, "You said, 'Forever,' and I almost bought it / I miss fighting in your old apartment / Breaking dishes when you're disappointed / I still love you, I promise," from her song "I Miss You, I'm Sorry."

But she hasn't just won over everyday fans. She also has some celebrity fans, too. Once, after hearing Abrams sing, singer-songwriter Lorde reached out to Abrams and asked her for a recording of the song she had posted. Other influential pop stars, including Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Post Malone, and Phoebe Bridgers are all fans of the young artist.

At the end of July, Abrams will be performing at Lollapalooza, the highly-anticipated four-day musical festival in Chicago. Following Chicago, she will be performing in both Toronto and Montréal. But aside from touring, Abrams has recently been working on new music with Aaron Dessner, who has previously collaborated with Taylor Swift, per Variety.

Aside from all these achievements, it’s also worth noting that her parents are of prominence in the Hollywood scene. Her father J.J. Abrams is well-known for his work writing and producing popular films, including Armageddon, Star Trek, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker, and more. And her mother Katie McGrath is a producer.
