Iraqi-Syrian pop songstress Wafia is back with an acoustic version of “Hurts,” her dynamic single in collaboration with Louis the Child and Whethan. In an all-new video made for Atlantic Records’ Stripped Sessions, Wafia lets the delicate side of the song shine, trading bass-heavy synths for airy drum and piano patterns.

Premiering exclusively on L’Officiel USA, the new video is a simple but visually stunning performance of the personal track. Wafia stands in an airy room surrounded by leafy plants, wearing mesh gloves, blue earrings, and a matching blazer. The energy is warm, her vocals are inviting, and her lyricism is resonant.

“Every word you write back/ If you really want me out the door/ Then just talk a little more/ 'Cause it feels a little cold,” sings Wafia on the chorus. “Hurts” is a vulnerable plea for conversation, a desperate attempt to reconcile through communication.

"Putting this together with the boys was amazing," the musician said of the new version of her collaboration. "I don’t usually strip my songs down this much so it was fun to reimagine the music this way. “

Wafia is no stranger to collaborating with other artists and skyrocketed into the public eye after she was featured on Louis the Child’s smash hit “Better Now.” “Hurts,” which is their newest collaboration, came out in September and has already racked up nearly two million streams on Spotify. If one thing is for sure, Wafia never stops creating, performing, and blowing us all away. She’s working on a new EP and is about to kick off the KIN World Tour with Electric Guest on October 28 in Seattle. Find the full list of dates here.
