Usher has a confession: He is the official headliner for the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show.

The news was announced on Sunday, after the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation posted confirmation via social media, tweeting, "USHER. LAS VEGAS. APPLE MUSIC HALFTIME SHOW."

The singer has also put out a statement about the news, saying, "It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before."

"Usher is an icon whose music has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape throughout his career, we couldn’t be more excited to have him headline this year’s Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show," Seth Dudowsky, the head of music for the NFL, said in a statement.

He continued, "We look forward to working with Usher, Roc Nation and Apple Music to bring fans another Halftime Show for the history books."

The 44-year-old singer is no novice to the Super Bowl stage. In 2011 he sang alongside the Black Eyed Peas’ as a guest artist. This will, however, be his first Super Bowl performance as the main headliner.

With decades worth of music to pull from, fans can only anticipate what songs will make the setlist. (Perhaps there will be a Keke Palmer appearance with his new song "Boyfriend"?)

Black Eyes Peas ft. Usher & Slash | 2011 Super Bowl Halftime Show

The "I Don't Mind" singer has quite the bar to surpass, following Rihanna's successful halftime show for the 2023 Super Bowl. The Fenty Beauty mogul went all out for her setlist, choreography, and stage design. On the fashion front, she expectedly wore designer, sporting a red Loewe jumpsuit and bustier under a matching red Alaïa jacket.

While her performance exceeded expectations and more, it was not her medley that became the most talked-about thing of the night. The "Diamonds" singer also revealed she was pregnant with her second child. (She recently gave birth to said child — a baby boy named Riot Rose Mayers).
