Almost two years after the release of his hit album After Hours, The Weeknd has surprised fans with the news of his next album titled Dawn FM, coming this Friday.

On Instagram, the "Blinding Lights" singer shared a teaser from what is likely the album's debut music video, captioning the post, "new album : dawn FM // january 7th." The one-minute video, which refers to the project as "a new sonic universe from the mind of The Weeknd," also announced some of the record's collaborators like Jim Carrey, Tyler, the Creator, Lil Wayne, Quincy Jones, and Oneohtrix Point Never.

While promoting his After Hours album, The Weeknd used visuals like music videos and his own red carpet appearances to translate the themes discussed in his music. Clad in the record's signature red jacket, he used face bandages and, subsequently, prosthetics to mimic plastic surgery as a way to highlight Hollywood's obsession with appearances.

In this latest clip, the singer appears aged up by at least 30 years, with a graying head and beard. As he smiles into the camera, a voice declares, "You are listening to 103.5 Dawn FM. You've been in the dark for way too long. It's time to walk into the light and accept your fate with open arms."

While fans are beside themselves at guessing what any of this means, it seems they'll have to wait until Friday to see what the singer has in store for them.
