After months of speculation, last week, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/did-taylor-swift-boyfriend-joe-alwyn-get-married-evermore-album" target="_blank">Taylor Swift</a> revealed that she will release&nbsp;the<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/why-is-taylor-swift-re-recording-old-albums" target="_blank"> re-recorded</a> version of her 2008&nbsp;Fearless album&mdash;now called Fearless (Taylor&#39;s Version)&mdash;in April. In more good news, a representative for the Recording Academy has confirmed that the new record, as well as the forthcoming new versions of her other albums, will be allowed consideration for <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/grammy-nominated-artists-to-know-2021" target="_blank">Grammy</a> nominations. &quot;Current eligibility guidelines would allow for the new performances and albums to be eligible if they were recorded within the last five years,&quot; the spokesperson said to <a href="https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/awards/9525130/taylor-swift-fearless-re-recording-grammys-eligible/" target="_blank">Billboard</a>. However, they also explained,&nbsp;&quot;None of the older songs would be eligible for songwriting awards.&quot;

Last week, Swift released &quot;<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/taylor-swift-releases-rerecorded-music-love-story-fearless" target="_blank">Love Story (Taylor&#39;s Version),</a>&quot; giving fans a chance to relive one of the biggest songs of the late-2000s. In her Instagram post about the new single and upcoming album release, she wrote, &quot;I&rsquo;m thrilled to tell you that my new version of Fearless (Taylor&rsquo;s Version) is done and will be with you soon. It has 26 songs including 6 never before released songs from the vault.&quot;

The singer has openly spoken about wanting to re-record her old albums after <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/justin-bieber-valentines-day-tiktok-concert-journals" target="_blank">Justin Bieber</a>&#39;s manager <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2020/11/16/arts/music/taylor-swift-scooter-braun-masters.html" target="_blank">Scooter Braun</a> purchased the masters to her early records from her former label Big Machine Records in 2019. As a result of his ownership, Braun would receive a cut of any revenue made from her work. Swift shared&nbsp;her feelings about the change in ownership on <a href="https://taylorswift.tumblr.com/post/185958366550/for-years-i-asked-pleaded-for-a-chance-to-own-my" target="_blank">Tumblr</a>, writing, &quot;All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I&rsquo;ve received at his&nbsp;hands for years.&quot;

As a result, the <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/music/taylor-swift-releasing-new-album-evermore-folklore" target="_blank">Evermore</a> singer has since stopped allowing&nbsp;the use of her early songs in film and television, to keep Braun from profitting off of her art. She has also become an advocate for artists&#39; rights to own their own work.
