Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran Gift Fans New Song for Valentine’s Day
Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift are celebrating a decade of friendship with a new, sentiment-filled song, "The Joker And The Queen."
Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran's friendship, which has lasted for more than a decade, marks its fourth artistic collaboration today with their new song "The Joker and the Queen," which the pair debuted at the 2022 Brit Awards.
While creating the original version of the song for his recent album = (pronounced Equals), Ed Sheeran knew just whose voice would be perfect for the new version of the track and, shortly thereafter invited Swift to record her vocals on the record. The new version was written by Sheeran, Swift, Johnny McDaid, Fred Gibson, and Sam Roman and produced by Sheeran, Gibson, McDaid, and Roman. The piece combines muted vocals, delicate piano notes, and wonderful string compositions recorded by Sheeran's brother Matthew.
This is not the first time the singers' have worked together. Their previous duets include "Everything Has Changed," "End Game," and "Run."
In addition to the song, the duo debuted a nostalgic video directed by Emilio Navos, which brings together the same actors who once starred in the classic "Everything Has Changed" video, a joint work between Sheeran and Swift ten years ago. In the video, 18-year-old Ava and Jack are now telling their story.
Since the release of = in October last year, Sheeran has dominated the world's music charts, earning four #1 songs in the UK with "Bad Habits," "Shivers," "Merry Christmas" with Elton John, and "Sausage Rolls for Everyone." The artist also recently unveiled a joint version of the hit "Peru" with Fireboy DML.
During his recent appearance at the 2022 Brit Awards where he was awarded Songwriter of the Year, Sheeran also performed a rock version of his song "Bad Habits" with Bring Me the Horizon.
