Justin Bieber to Perform at the MTV VMAs for the First Time in 6 Years

The singer is nominated for seven awards.

After a prolonged absence, Justin Bieber is returning to the MTV Video Music Awards stage. Though a constant at the top of the charts, the 27-year-old singer hasn't performed at the award show since 2015. However, the network has recently revealed that the "Peaches" artist will perform at this year's ceremony later this month. 

Following the release of his Justice album earlier this year, Bieber is nominated for seven awards: Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Best Pop, Best Collaboration, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing.

 

This year's event will be hosted by Doja Cat, whose explosive rise on TikTok last year has made her one of the biggest names in music as of late. Alongside Bieber, Doja Cat will also perform at the show, as well as a bevy of other performers including Camila CabelloChlöeLil Nas XLordeMachine Gun KellyShawn MendesOlivia Rodrigo, Twenty One Pilots, as well as the event's host. Country singer Kacey Musgraves, who recently announced her upcoming album Star-Crossed, will also take the stage to sing the record's titular single.

The 2021 MTV VMAs will air live from the Brooklyn Barclays Center in New York City on September 12 at 8 p.m. EST.
