Jack Antonoff Shares Shady Response to Scooter Braun Losing Clients

Jack Antonoff clearly wants to know all the drama on what is happening in the world of Scooter Braun — the infamous music manager who's had a public feud with Antonoff's best friend Taylor Swift for years — as more clients continue to part ways with Braun.

On Sunday, Antonoff posted the shadiest reaction on his Instagram story, sharing a meme of a Sims character sitting at her computer while her baby Sim is covered in flames on the floor. The text then reads, "Not now sweetie, mommy is trying to figure out why Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato and Idina Menzel just fired Scooter Braun as their manager.”

The post comes days after multiple celebrity clients participated in the Great Braunxit, dropping Braun for reasons that are still fully unknown to the public. The first to be reported of leaving was Justin Bieber, who has been managed by Braun since he was founded on YouTube as a tween. These allegations have since been denied by reps from both Braun and Bieber, as it was later revealed that Bieber allegedly has four more years left with Braun per his contract.

Demi Lovato leaving Braun came shortly after the rumored news about Bieber, though, unlike the "Maria" singer, Lovato is confirmed to have parted ways with the music manager. Sources confirmed the claim to Billboard stating that Lovato is seeking new management but emphasized the split was an amicable separation.

Following Lovato is none other than Ariana Grande, who was working with Braun since 2013. Whether or not Grande has left Braun was up in the air, as some sources told Variety that Grande is still under Braun's management while other sources told People she has dropped Braun and "is excited to go in a different direction." 

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Indina Menzel left Braun months ago, though there was not a definite explanation for why that is. 

So why exactly is everyone leaving Braun? He is "imploding," one source told Variety. "It's a different world since the pandemic. You just can't be an asshole like that anymore."

Another source claims a different point, saying "he's getting out of management — he has been for years."

For anyone who may be unfamiliar with who Braun is, he is infamously known for his public feud with Swift, having acquired the rights to her music in 2019 and refusing to sell it to her unless she made more. He later sold her masters in 2020 for more than $300 million, but the debacle is what urged Swift to start her ongoing re-recording process, re-making her first six albums that she will now have complete ownership of.

To date, Swift has released her versions of Fearless, Speak Now, and Red. She recently announced she will be re-releasing 1989 come October 27th, meaning the remaining two albums are Reputation and Taylor Swift.
