Drake Dropping New Album 'Certified Lover Boy' This Friday
Fans are gearing up for the rapper's long-awaited sixth studio album.
After a year of rumor and speculation, Drake will release his latest album Certified Lover Boy this Friday, September 3.
Last week, ESPN ran a cryptic promotion during Sportscenter that alluded to the album's upcoming release, but this confirmation from the artist himself leaves no room for doubt. On Monday, the rapper revealed the drop date on Instagram under a photo of several emojis of pregnant women. While he has not confirmed the picture as the album cover, he did tag artist Damien Hirst, leaving fans with more questions than answers.
Many initially believed Drake's sixth studio album would be released in early 2021 following the release of his single "Laugh Now Cry Later" which premiered in August of last year. However, due to an ACL injury that required surgery, the "God's Plan" artist postponed the record's release indefinitely until he recovered from his injury.
In April 2021, the artist also shared a sneak peek of the album's accompanying merch collection with Chrome Hearts.
