Céline Dion Postpones Las Vegas Residency for Health Reasons
At 53, singer Céline Dion has canceled her Las Vegas shows and is isolated in a mansion to take care of her failing health.
Family members say that singer Céline Dion is isolated in a mansion located in Henderson, Nevada due to health concerns that have canceled her upcoming Las Vegas concerts. The 53-year-old singer is unable to walk or get out of bed, due to "severe and persistent muscle spasms," according to her team.
Dion canceled the shows for her Las Vegas residency in November, January, and February. Recently, the singer's thinness has caught the attention of fans and the media, which may be related to her poor health. "She can no longer get out of bed, nor move, nor walk. She suffers from pain in her legs and feet that paralyze her, in addition to being very weak and having lost a lot of weight," said a family member.
In a recent post on Dion's Instagram, she comments that she is heartbroken by the situation. "I have a broken heart. (...) I feel so bad that I'm letting [the fans] down, and I’m especially sorry for disappointing all the fans who’ve been making their plans to come to Las Vegas. Now, I have to focus on getting better… I want to get through this as soon as I can," she said.
Also according to the family, Dion's prescription medications were no longer working, causing her condition to worsen. The singer's sister tried to calm the situation but said it was painful to see what is happening. "What's happening to her is sad. But it's not serious, otherwise she would have told me. Celine always confides in me and asks for advice when something is wrong. I know she's in good spirits.” she said to French magazine Voici.
