BTS V' Set to Release Debut Solo Album 'Layover'
BTS' V is finally releasing his first solo album 'Layover' — with the release date sooner rather than later.
BTS' V has finally unveiled his debut album solo album, Layover.
The news was announced by Big Hit Music — BTS' label — via social media, accompanied by a teaser video and release date. Layover will release on September 8, featuring six tracks: “Rainy Days,” “Blue,” “Love Me Again,” “Slow Dancing,” For Us,” and “Slow Dancing.” Ahead of the announcement, it was revealed last week that V would be working with NewJeans' creative director Min Hee-jin for the album, according to NME.
After the news shocked the world that BTS would be going on hiatus for the foreseeable future, many fans questioned if this would be the last of what we see of the group for a while or if they will break out and do solo projects. So far, it's been the latter, as other members Jung Kook, Jimin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, and Jin have all also released solo projects.
V's previous solo projects include “Stigma,” “Singularity,” “Winter Bear,” “Inner Child," and “Christmas Tree.” The news of his upcoming debut solo album also comes shortly after V was announced as Cartier's newest global ambassador. He joins an already A-list lineup of ambassadors, including Jackson Wang, Elle Fanning, Rami Malek, and Willow Smith, to name a few.
"When it came to embodying the magnetism and aura of the panther, our choice naturally fell on V," Senior Vice-president and Chief Marketing Officer, Arnaud Carrez explained in a statement. "He has the look and strength of character. A personality whose choices are guided by creativity as a dancer, musician or art lover, with this style and this elegance that belong only to him."
