Fresh off a Grammy win for her duet with Lady Gaga on their song "Rain on Me," Ariana Grande is sharing her talents and knowledge of the music industry with the next generation of artists on NBC's blind musical competition show The Voice. She is set to take over as a judge for Nick Jonas, who replaced Gwen Stefani in Seasons 18 and 20. Grande will compete alongside judges Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend.

She announced the news on social media Tuesday morning. "Surprise !!! i am beyond thrilled, honored, excited to be joining @kellyclarkson @johnlegend @blakeshelton next season ~ season 21 of @nbcthevoice!" Grande announced in a tweet. "@nickjonas we will miss you."

Legend responded to the tweet welcoming Grande into her new role. He wrote, "So excited to welcome Ariana to our Voice family!!"

Unlike other singing competition series, The Voice is known for its blind auditions. Each of the four judges creates a team of contestants. During auditions, the four judges sit turned away from the stage as the newcomers perform, and are only turned around if they hit their red button, indicating that they would like the singer to be on their team. If more than one of the judges turns around, the singer can choose whose team they would like to be on. Past judges include Adam Levine, Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, and Christina Aguilera. Considering Grande's worldwide popularity, she'll likely be a favorite among contestants.
