Adele has just released her long-awaited album 30, but the singer was quite annoyed with the way some fans were listening to it. To combat this, she asked Spotify to disable a frequently used function in order to have her creative process respected. She asked the platform to remove the "shuffle" button as the default option for listening, and the company quickly granted her wish.

This was the only request I had in our ever changing industry! We don’t create albums with so much care and thought into our track listing for no reason. Our art tells a story and our stories should be listened to as we intended. Thank you Spotify for listening" Adele wrote on her Twitter account.

Now Spotify listeners can automatically listen to the album in its intended order, but they can still choose to shuffle the songs manually. The British star's new record is a pure success, reaching the top of music charts in several countries around the world.

Adele started working on the album in 2018 when she turned 30, and most of the songs talk about the challenges she faced at the time. That year, she began her divorce from Simon Knecki, with whom she has a son, Angelo.
