Rihanna is Releasing a Men's Collection—And It's Not What You Think
Rihanna's newest Release is a collaboration with musician and model Christian Combs.
For the first time ever, Rihanna is making fashion speifically for men.
The upcoming line is releasing by way of her Savage X Fenty label—not to be confused by her LVMH brand, Fenty, or her beauty empire, Fenty Beauty—and is being made in collaboration Christian Combs. No stranger to the brand's family, the son of Puff Daddy performed at Rihanna's live Amazon fashion show slash dance perfomance last year, and has ince been a constant supporter.
Through the new capsule, Rihanna and Combs hope to push the boundaries of individuality with styles that can be worn by everyone. The 11-piece assortment consists of menswear and men's inspired pieces, and is set to include an oversized smoking jacket, satin pants in a black caviar monogram print, and a variety of boxer briefs and trunks with contrasting color combinations unique to the brand. All of which include the hard-to-miss Savage X Fenty symbol.
“I wanted to create menswear styles that everyone can wear,” Rihanna said in a statement. “And after Christian did such a great job at the 2019 fashion show wearing men’s, I knew we had to have him as a collaborator.”
The capsule collection will debut as part of the Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 2 event on Friday, October 2, 2020.
